Enjoyed:
Astrid et Raphaelle, aka Astrid season five episode 3 "Mandala"
Stark Raving Black (2010) - In an addition to a splendid comedy concert, the DVD for this featured a very informative documentary called Basic Black, the Lewis Black Story. The documentary told the story about how Lewis Black went to Yale University to learn play writing, and after years of failing to find success with his plays, he ended up on stage as a standup comedian. 16 years on, much of the comedy concert is out of date, but all of the personal stuff, particularly about his parents, is still dynamite.
Mildly enjoyed:
The Morning Show season two (2021) - My fear arroused by the ending of season one is justified as season two is full tilt melodrama. The production is still strong but the material gets so sensationalistic that it is a marvel that the actors can keep straight faces. It is nice to see The Foo Fighters show up for a bit, and I'm always happy to see Valeria Golino. It is also good that Embeth Davidtz finally got a couple of good scenes, but when is Shari Belafonte going to get one? It was also nice to hear Elton Britt's "Cowpoke".
Did not enjoy:
Grace and Frankie season seven (2022)
SCARY MOVIE 2 (2001) - This was not hard to watch. I got a few chuckles from it, and I enjoyed seeing some performers that I like including Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Chris Elliot, Andy Richter, Natasha Lyonne and Veronica Cartwright. I was pleasantly surprised to see that director Keenan Ivory Wayans was parodying THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, in addition to THE HAUNTING, POLTERGEIST, THE ENTITY and THE EXORCIST. Reportedly there were also gags on STIGMATA, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, THE CHANGELING, WHAT LIES BENEATH, BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH, HANNIBAL, HOLLOW MAN and THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, but I didn't catch those. Spoofing the CHARLIE'S ANGELS movie seemed a bit off topic, but who could expect some discipline from a movie like this?

Angel Rivera Highly enjoyed:
"ULYSSES" (1954/5)
After watching "The Odyssey" (2026) I pulled out my DVD copy of the Kirk Douglas film "Ulysses" and although I hadn't seen it in a long time, I gladly enjoyed it. I felt it was very "Hollywood" and even though it was tailored made for Douglas (there was a wrestling scene where Douglas got to show off his physique and prowess) it still was more entertaining than that overblown, overlong film with Matt Damon (whom I never liked except when he played villains.) The Cyclops scene was more entertaining than the version in Damon's film. Silvana Mangano was a delight, especially when she was seen as Circe as well as playing Penelope.
"THAT THING YOU DO" (1996)
Tom Hanks' "pastiche" to the wannabe bands of the sixties known as "one hit wonders". With great music that sounded like it was made in the sixties and great performances by a young cast of relatively little known actors and actresses at the time of the film's release.
Mildly enjoyed:
"RETURN OF THE STREET FIGHTER" (1974)
"THE STREET FIGHTER'S LAST REVENGE"(1974)
More of Sonny Chiba's over the top violent martial arts with a little nudity and sex thrown in for good measure.
Did not enjoy:
"THE ODYSSEY" (2026)
Although it had some good special effects, it failed to impress me. I give it a 4 out of 10. (With 10 being the high score)

David Deal Enjoyed:
TO COMMIT A MURDER (67) - From 2003: "Curious, languid crime/spy thriller with Louis Jourdan and the lovely Senta Berger. For some reason I can’t quite explain, I really like this one."
OPERATION COUNTERSPY (65) - The Eurospy Guide recommends it. :)
FULL ECLIPSE (93) - After his partner is killed, officer Mario Van Peebles is drawn into an elite crime task force led by controversial cop Bruce Payne. Payne is a werewolf who has managed to synthesize that gene and is providing it to the team to make them superhuman. Patsy Kensit, a member of the group who is sleeping with Payne, is drawn to Mario. This causes tension. Anthony Hickox's cop-horror hybrid is an action-packed monster thriller that is a cut above the usual low-brow efforts.
THE DIRTY GAME (65) - Again with the Eurospy Guide.
GUNSLINGER (56) - From 2005: "Fun low-budget Corman oater with Bev Garland as the wife of a killed sheriff who takes over his job to find her hubby's killers. John Ireland is the gunslinger brought in to stop her. Great scene with these two in a shootout as they profess their love for each other. Primo title sequence too."
NIGHT CHILD (75) - Massimo Dallamano (Bandidos, A Black Veil for Lisa, What Have You Done to Solange?) crafted a superior film of tragic destiny from an inescapable past and, thanklessly, saw his film lumped in with all the Exorcist pretenders. This pleased almost no one. Consider this an overlooked gem; it has an interesting and game cast, great locations, impressive photography (Dallamano was a cinematographer), and an intriguing mystery at its core. I think it's ripe for restoration.
BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE (59) - How can you not like a Japanese battle in outer space?
IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD (63) - This is a nostalgic pleasure of mine.
KILL, BABY, KILL (66) - One of Mario Bava's greatest artistic achievements; every frame is a piece of Gothic eye candy.
