I am interested in knowing what movies you have watched and what you enjoyed or not. So please send me an email at scinema@earthlink.net if you'd like to share. Here's what I watched last week:

Enjoyed:

DEADPOOL 2 (2018)

ANNA (2019) - Sure, it's a variation on NIKTA, but after suffering through Michael Bay and FAST & FURIOUS movies, it is such a pleasure to watch a director like Luc Besson work. Did Besson choose Helen Mirren and Luke Evans because they are part of the F&F series? Did he hire Cillian Murphy because of his work in movies directed by Christopher Nolan and did the Nolan movies inspire the wacky fragmented time structure of ANNA?

THE ACCOUNTANT (2016) - I'll watch anything featuring Anna Kendrick and Ben Affleck is pretty good here, too.

Mildly enjoyed:

Unsung "Skyy" (2020)

EAGLE IN A CAGE (1972) - Does anyone have an uncut copy of this?

BUTA TO GUNKAN, aka PIGS AND BATTLESHIPS (1961)

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD (2019)

RAMBLING ROSE (1991)

Did not enjoy:

FAST & FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW (2019)

WALL STREET MONEY NEVER SLEEPS (2010) - I'm a fan of David Byrne and Brian Eno, but I'm not a fan of having them cover this movie with songs.

WALKING THUNDER (1997) - The answer to the trivia question, "On what movie did John Denver and Brian Keith work?"

HIGH LIFE (2018) - I'll watch anything with Juliette Binoche, but this movie is incredibly unrewarding - though Jessie Ross is beautiful.

A CURE FOR WELLNESS (2016) - This is certainly elegantly photographed.

THE SIMPSONS MOVIE (2007)

BLOOD OF DRACULA (1957)

THE FLIGHT OF THE DOVES (1971)

CURSE, aka CHU NU JIANG, aka CANNIBAL CURSE (1988)

David Deal enjoyed:

PARASITE (19)

CAMILLE 2000 (69)

LAST MAN TO KILL (66) - See The Eurospy Guide book for a complete review of this Umberto Lenzi entry.

NORTH BY NORTHWEST (59)

Mildly enjoyed:

LEGEND OF HORROR (60)

LAURA (76)

HAPKIDO (72) - Beginning to explore Angela Mao kung fu flicks.  Fun to see a young Samo Hung, and spotted Jackie Chan in the background.

I COVER CHINATOWN (36)

Charles Gilbert watched:

THE HUMANOIDS (1962) Post apocalyptic mankind has developed robotics to the point of losing dominance to the advanced versions evolved into humanoids, colloquially referred to as 'clickers'. Under the threat, an order of the flesh and blood humans wants to end their existance. Chief of the council Cragis (Don Megowan) is appalled that his own sister has purchased one for 'rapport', which smacks of a "Stepford' conjugal union between machine and corporal. Highly cerebral script with minimal violence.

IN THE YEAR 2889 (1967) Remake of THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED from Larry Buchanan; this turkey is with Paul Peterson and Quinn O'Hara, but minus the mule. Even cheesier than Roger Cornan's shlock.

The True Story of Frankenstein Documentary. Hosted by Roger Moore and narrated by Eli Wallach. Review of all the film titles and more.
