I am interested in knowing what movies you have watched and what you enjoyed or not. So please send me an email at scinema@earthlink.net if you'd like to share. Here's what I watched last week:

Enjoyed:

Alaska Daily episode 4 (2022)

High School episode 5 (2022)

BLACK PANTHER (2018)

AVENGERS INFINITY WAR (2018)

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (2018)

Mildly enjoyed:

FOR THE LOVE OF MOVIES: The Story of American Film Criticism (2009) - This film was of personal interest for me since I was growing up during the time when Film Criticism was important with the championing of non-American films. I kept wanting them to note that Richard Schickel came into my consciousness as the one man who gave DIRTY HARRY a good review. But the film gets dinged for starting off with Harry Knowles - who I've been ignoring since he boasted about not "getting" Firefly and SERENITY.

Missing (2006) - Karvin Alvtegen's 2000 novel became a two-part ITV TV movie, adapted by writer Jimmy Gardener and director Ian Madden. Watching Joanne Froggatt as an escaped mental patient, turned homeless scammer falsely accused of murder, is enough reward for watching this. And Gregor Fisher as the cop out to solve the case turns in a compelling performance as well. The solution to the murder case seems disappointingly contrived, but the viewing is enjoyable.

Uncnsrd "Keke Wyatt" (2022)

Unsung presents the Hit-Makers "'Warryn Campbel" (2022)

Charles Gilbert watched:

REVENGE OF THE BARBARIANS (1960) Literate script despite the title, with a Christian Rome defending against the Visigoths led by King Alaric and Atawulf (Caesar Fantoni and Robert Alda) often in disagreement. Self aggrandizing Emperor Onorius (Mario Scaccia) gives audience to much council including his scheming and indomitable sister Galla Placidia (Daniella Rocca) quite fetching as she skulks the barbarian camp in red briefs. But her softer side devises a surprise in the end which brings peace.

TREASURE OF THE PETRIFIED FOREST aka THE STONE FOREST (1965) Vikings led by Hunding (Gordon Mitchell) invade the forest where live Sigmund (Ivo Payer) and his clan guarding a magical treasure. A band of female warriors serve as allies. Based on the Ring of Nibelung and composer Richard Wagner opera. Credit opening includes his well known Ride of the Valkyries.
