I am interested in knowing what movies you have watched and what you enjoyed or not. So please send me an email at scinema@earthlink.net if you'd like to share. Here's what I watched last week:
Having spent the week packing and moving, I wasn't able to watch much aside from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Bob (hearts) Abishola, Young Sheldon and Ghosts.
Enjoyed:
Hawkeye (2021)
Astrid et Raphaelle "Chainon Manquant" (2020)
Astrid et Raphaelle "Chambre Close" (2020)
Astric et Raphaelle "Fulcanelli" (2020)
Did not enjoy:
KISS THE BLOOD OFF MY HANDS (1948) - After accidentally killing the manager of a pub, Canadian seaman Burt Lancaster escapes the London police by ducking into Joan Fontaine's apartment window. She doesn't turn him in, so after he robs a man on the street and gets his own apartment, Lancaster convinces Fontaine to date him. She gets him a job as a driver at the hospital where she is a nurse. Unfortunately, Robert Newton witnessed Lancaster's accidental murder and tries to blackmail him into committing a crime with his gang. Based on a novel by English author Gerald Butler, the screenplay for this was written by three men who would all soon be blacklisted because of the HUAC hearings. Norman Foster directed

Charles Gilbert watched:
ZORRO AND THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1963) Gordon Scott at his hammiest essaying the role of the quixotic Johnston McCulley character opposite Jose Greci. First time viewing.
LION OF ST. MARK (1963) Gordon Scott plays dandy Manrico Venier set to become Ambassador to France, and to marry a noblewoman by arrangement. He falls for pirate Gianna Maria Canale instead and masquerades in dark habiliment and mask. Sometimes it's necessary for his friend (Rik Bataglia) to don the disguise. Blooper at 56 55 where Manrico's voice can be heard while his lips are pressed against his loves'. So many battlement cannons destroyed in the end.
JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS (1963) Harold Bradley can be seen as a guard at the end. Not my favorite Harryhausen film. Shown on Creature Features Friday.
CORRIDORS OF BLOOD (1958) B&W. In 19th Century London Dr. Thomas Bolton (Boris Karloff) seeks to find a means to render surgery to patients painlessly. The phrase of the skeptics "The knife and pain are inseparable" haunts him. In the lab inhaling the gas on himself for testing he becomes addicted to the opiate ingredients.. Interesting cast in the period setting includes Francis de Wolf, Christopher Lee Adrienne Cori, , and Yvonne Romain playing seedy characters.. Finlay Currie is a hospital colleague. Nigel Green plays a police inspector.
February 11, 1983 Welterweight fight: Marvin Hagler vs.Englishman Tony Sibson. One-sided bout that went 6 rounds. Marvelous Marvin wins by TKO.

David Deal Enjoyed:
$10,000 FOR A MASSACRE (66) - Bandit Claudio Camaso (who looks a lot like a young Gian Maria Volante) gets out of prison and promptly kidnaps the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Said landowner tries to hire "Django" (Gianni Garko) to kill Camaso but Django turns him down and joins Camaso in a stage robbery. When Camaso kills Django's girl in that robbery, Django goes revengin' big time. Garko carries this adequate spaghetti but the villain is weak and even Fernando Sancho is relegated to a supporting role.
CULT OF THE COBRA (55)
THE MAN FROM BITTER RIDGE (55) - Lex Barker, a special investigator for a stage line, is going to get to the bottom of a series of stage robberies. John Dehner, who is running for sheriff, is the brains behind the crimes. Jack Arnold's western moves at a good clip and looks great. It features Mara Corday and Stephen McNally, who plays a good guy for a change.
THE MAN IN THE BACK SEAT (61) - Tony and Frank get the bright idea to rob a bookie outside a dog track. When they realize the bag of dough is handcuffed to the now unconscious bookie and the key is nowhere to be found, things quickly slide out of control for the doomed duo. This is a taught film noir taking place over one fateful night as circumstances and bad decisions make for one unlucky heist. Directed by Vernon Sewell.
THE BLACK CHAPEL (59)
THE GREEN SLIME (68)
VIOLENT NAPLES (76)
WAVES OF LUST (75)
SCARAMOUCHE (52)
L'eclisse (62)
THE HORROR OF DRACULA (58)
Mildly enjoyed:
THE STRANGE COLORS OF YOUR BODY'S TEARS (13)

Angel Rivera Enjoyed:
"Zorro and the Three Musketeers"(1963) - I forgot to mention last week that as one of the Musketeers was the popular Italian actor, Giacomo Rossi-Stuart as Aramis and not Athos as he is listed in IMDb website.
"Queen of Blood"(1966) - A film starring John Saxon and one-time girlfriend of Frank Sinatra, Judi Meredith. (Meredith also costarred with Kerwin Mathews in the fantasy favorite, "Jack, the Giant Killer"(1962).) Also in the cast in this sci-fi/horror film about a space vampire let loose on a spaceship bound for Earth are a pre-"Easy Rider"(1969) Dennis Hopper and Basil Rathbone in one of his last films.
"Sergeant Rutledge"(1960) - The John Ford classic where Woody Strode, one of the first African American athletes to turn actor says to Jeffery Hunter, "It was all right for Mr. Lincoln to say we're free, but that ain't so. Not yet. Maybe some day, but not yet." The film is set in 1881, but those words still resonate today. A monumental film in my opinion.
"Two Rode Together(1961) - Another John Ford classic. James Stewart and Richard Widmark.star in a western dealing with the rescue of white captives from the Comanche.
John McIntire, Shirley Jones and Linda Cristal costar. Great performances by all. The film deals with prejudice and racism and makes a strong case against prejudice.
"Them"(1954) - Still a great thriller and worth re-watching many times
